About Wand & Wonder

Where Stories and Imagination Lead to Discovery

Our children move from imaginative play into real questions faster than we expect. One day a story isn’t just a story anymore. It becomes a conversation starter. Why did it change? Can I do it again? What else can I try?

Wand & Wonder was created for that moment. Our kits combine simple stories with intentional materials to turn curiosity into action. Kids mix, observe, and try things at their own pace. It’s imaginative play supported by real science, designed to make learning feel engaging and quietly magical.

How We Began

Wand & Wonder began when a mother noticed her daughter completely absorbed in pretend “potion play.” Every new potion became a little experiment, another ingredient added, another reaction to see. The curiosity was there, but without any structure, it was hard for her to connect her actions with the changes she saw. It felt like a moment worth supporting more intentionally.

“I wanted her pretend play to stay fun, but also to help her notice what was happening. A simple story and a few purposeful ingredients felt like the right way to guide her without taking over.”

What began as a small idea at home became the foundation of Wand & Wonder: creating meaningful, inviting experiences that help children follow their questions and start understanding the world around them.

From the Founder

I’m Alexandra, the founder of Wand & Wonder. I’ve always been drawn to making things with intention. I care about how materials feel, how experiences take shape, and how small design choices can guide curiosity without forcing it. My background isn’t linear or formal in the traditional sense. Everything I do has been learned by making, testing, refining, and noticing what actually works.

The idea for Wand & Wonder took shape as I watched my daughter return again and again to pretend potion play, completely immersed in it. She wasn’t just imagining, she was experimenting, observing, and repeating. The curiosity was already there. What felt missing was a gentle structure that could help her notice what was happening without turning play into a lesson or interrupting the magic.

This brand grew out of that moment. I wanted to design materials that respect children’s intelligence and attention, materials you can trust in your home, and that children return to because they invite exploration rather than instruction. Wand & Wonder exists in that in-between space, where magic is still alive and critical thinking is beginning to take shape.

What We Believe

We believe children learn best when imagination and understanding grow together. Stories spark interest; clear, visible change helps them connect what they see with the questions they’re already asking. When learning is delivered this way, it feels natural. Less like a lesson and more like wonder and discovery.

We design our kits with that balance in mind. Each element is chosen to make change noticeable and meaningful, giving children room to experiment in a way that supports early science. Parents get quiet play they can trust, and kids get space to explore with confidence.

Everything we create is made in small batches with care, using safe, biodegradable materials. Our aim is simple: to offer play that supports curiosity, confidence, and growth.

Why We Do This

We believe learning should feel like wonder, not work. When science begins in a story, it never stops feeling magical. We exist for the in-between, the moment imagination turns into real questions and play becomes a way to understand the world. Our mission is to spark tomorrow’s scientists by nurturing today’s dreamers, catching early curiosity before it fades and showing that it strengthens with every small discovery.

Wonder Grows With You.
